Dear GHS Choir members, families, and friends,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I can’t believe summer is already over and the new year is upon us, but I am so excited for the incredible year we have planned. We had an incredible choir camp filled with bonding, dancing, and music making and hearing all of you sing together for the first time gave me chills. We have a very special group of students on our hands and I am looking forward to continuing the work we began last year.
To the returning students, thank you for everything you did to make my first year of teaching as incredible as it was. I could not have asked for a better first year of teaching and you all played an integral part in making it the success that it was. To all the new students, welcome to the best part of being in high school. The friendships you make here in choir will be ones that you will cherish and hold onto long after you leave GHS. Take the time to reach out and get to know someone. Wish someone a good day. We are all family here and together we can do great things!
By now you should all know our show choir competition sets for this year. The creative team and I are already hard at work planning costumes, set pieces, music arrangements, choreography, and many more of the finer details that make the sets come to life. If you or anyone you know are interested in helping with the planning of the sets, please contact me. They say it takes a village and I know that to be true now more than ever.
The choirs at Glendora High School are truly a special place to be and by joining you are now a part of the wonderful tradition of making music at the highest level. Together we will continue our success, forging many wonderful memories along the way. Whether it’s at a show choir competition, on our tour to San Diego, at Sounds of Noel, or in rehearsal, you all will leave a lasting legacy on this program. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Here’s to a fantastic year! Let’s bring the show! Go Tartans!
